Birds of 2014 Camooweal May 2014

Have not been out on the road for some time so unfortunately my blog has been neglected. Christmas and New Year is always taken up with family time, as they are spread around the country it takes a good three months to catch up with everybody before planning my trip for 2015.
In the meantime I thought it would be a good time to pop up a few photos  from last years trip around the block.
For this blog I will concentrate on birds. I have become quite a photographer of birds, good or bad I'm not sure but I have enjoyed hunting the birds out and trying for a good photo. Have found some very unusual birds I had never heard of before, which I was quite excited about.
Will add more as I get the time.

Starting with Camooweal Billabong which is in Queensland just before the border into Northern Territory I was pleased to see a great variety.
Wild budgerigars are in abundance in this area. At the time I was there they were nesting in the hollow trees within touching distance of our vans.

Australian wild budgies are always green and yellow. They are smaller than the ones kept as pets in cages which can be a variety of colours. The wild budgies can be found in most of Australia.

Pelicans are in abundance in this area also

This one has caught itself a fish.
