I spent a day around the Denmark area, 2 days actually as I stayed 2 nights at Cosy Corner and during the day drove up to the Valley of the Giants.
Now! considering this has been one challenge that has thwarted me for some time, I was determined I would do it even if I had to hold my breath all the way.
I am so glad I was able to do this walk, a huge highlight of my South of Western Australia trip. Very memorable and worth going to that area for the Tree walk as well as the other highlights.
I also went to the Cider and Toffee factory, where I did a tasting and ended up buying a bottle of Toffee Apple Cider.
This whole area is rich green farming country and worth taking the Lower Denmark Road just to see how beautiful it all is. Rolling hills and beautiful drives throughout the area.
For $10.50 for Seniors to do the Tree Walk it is definitely worth it. By the time I got back down my legs were like jelly and I had a couple of panic attacks along the way.
The walk goes to 40 metres at it's highest but because it is all sloped in such a way, no steps, wheelchair friendly, you don't realise you are walking so high until you get to the top and look over the tops of the trees.
Everything is very well maintained, there is no fear of anything collapsing.
Up to this sign I was going up, From now on I am descending. |
