Mullewa to Canna Wildflowers

Now starts the travel through the Wild Flower region of WA. Moving inland from Geraldton to Mullewa we make our way to the info Centre to check the best direction to go in to find the best displays. We are told Mullewa doesn't have much left now, that's after being told some time back not to come down too early as the wild flowers won't be out yet.
They kindly gave us maps to move on to Canna where we would find plenty along the way and also once there.
So my big purchase for the day was from their 2nd hand book shelves where I managed to find a full set of Wilbur Smith books in sequence. For anyone who has tried to do that you will know how difficult it really is.
We made our way to Canna where we went to the dam first and wandered around the edge taking photos. From there we then went in to the town (One closed shop) but it did have an interesting feature of a tree growing out of the wall and heading  up to the sky, very dramatic as you will see in the photo. Also an old rusty car with the bonnet open and wild flowers growing from the garden inside. Well, they tried. Not a lot else to look at there so we followed the previously given map out 6ks of dirt road looking for the Wreath Flower.
It really is amazing how a lot of the smaller wild flowers just grow out of fresh dirt on the road side where they have recently done some road works. That is where we found the wreath flower and it really is an amazing plant. How it knows to form itself in a complete circle and so prettily done, I will never know. But worth seeing if you get the chance.
After doing the photography thing which I am getting more interested in and enjoying, we made our way to the overnight camp where we found some very interesting history.
Not sure what is in this hole which is in the centre of this grass but I'm guessing it would be a large spider.

This is the Wreath Flower - Deserves Top Spot

Just a few of the flowers found in this area, more to come.
